THAILAND THE BEST PERFORMER AT THE 25th SEA GAMES IN LAOS

Thailand came out as the contingent with the most medals of 14 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 14 bronze medals, followed by Indonesia (7-7-7), Vietnam (7-4-11), the Philippines (7-3-4), Malaysia (6-6-4), Myanmar (2-5-2), Singapore (2-1-0) while Cambodia and host Laos each won a bronze medal. Brunei Darussalam and East Timor had yet to win any medal.

 During the competition, several athletes managed to create new records such as Suryo Agung Wibowo of Indonesia who improved the men's 100 meter record of his own from 10.25 seconds to 10.17 seconds while Theerayut Philakong improve the triple jump record from 16.44 meter to 16.51meter, also another own record.
